Cologne, May 14, 2022.
The Departmental Plenary of the Broad Front, meeting today, reaffirms its definition of the Departmental Political Table of last December 28, 2021, regarding the events involving the Departmental Mayor Ana María Díaz, whose content adds in the this statement.
1 – Given the facts of public knowledge, we reaffirm the total rejection of all types of violence, structural and patriarchal, wherever it comes from and under whatever argument. In this sense, we stand in solidarity with the victims.
2- Accept the resignation from the political force of Mrs. Ana María Díaz Franggi presented on November 6, 2021.
3- Due to the aforementioned facts, the Broad Front of Colonia publicly requests the Departmental Mayor’s seat that Mrs. Díaz Franggi currently owns, on the understanding that the seat belongs to the political party.
4- The Bench of Mayors of the Broad Front in the Departmental Board of Colonia is entrusted to process, eventually, the constitutional mechanism of impeachment of the Departmental Mayor Ana María Díaz Franggi.
