The program of presentations of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), under the direction of Viengsay Valdés, includes the world premiere of The time ninthby British choreographer Gemma Bond.

Scheduled for exhibition from the second half of April, the work has music by the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, in particular fragments of The passion according to Matthew.

Bond said that in his production the leading role is assumed by feelings and emotions, not the technical exquisiteness of the movements. The beauty, he stressed, lies in the imperfection of the staging.

«The dancers and the musicians will converge on the same stage and when that happens it causes a goosebumps and a magical moment. I hope, above all, that they are free and enjoy themselves,” the choreographer told the Cuban media.

In his vision, the public attending the work will experience a unique and special exchange, enriched by the individual work of the dancers. «You will not see a defined character, as happens in some ballets, among them Don Quixote or the lake of the Swans”, referred.

A graduate of the Royal Ballet School and a former fellow at the Choreographic Institute of New York, in the United States, Gemma Bond has a professional career spanning more than two decades.
