The sector called for a measure of force throughout the country for 24 hours, this means that the Banking Association will make a total cessation of activities during the time of the protest.
Through a press release the Banking Association reported that the strike is given “for a decent salary recomposition, for a solution to the absurd tax on profits, for our rights.”
He also explained that “Each section of the Banking Association It will adopt the particularity that it deems appropriate, with or without mobilization.. However, the strike includes both workers who perform tasks in person and online.
In this way, there will only be financial services at the national level for two days this week, since the measure of force in the sector will be for 24 hours, and the two holidays have just ended within the framework of the Carnival celebrations.
The sector’s claim is based on a parity increase above inflation and on companies taking over a percentage of what workers must pay for Income Tax.
In this regard, Sergio Palazzo, Secretary General of the entity He expressed: “We have established as joint issues, before discussing the percentage, that there be some type of compensation by the companies for the income tax that the workers are paying”; however, the companies would not have responded to their requests.
Wages lose against inflation
The sector obtained a salary improvement of 94.1% in the 2022 parity, which left salaries just below 94.8% of inflation that INDEC shared in December of last year. Therefore, they seek to compensate for this loss of purchasing power in the 2023 increase.
“We were a few hundredths out of line with inflation,” Palazzo said, adding: “Starting in January, we had to have our parity resolved for the whole year, we began to chat and make some progress since December. But after two months there has been no chance to move forward.”
