The Atlánticos get their fourth straight win by beating the Águilas Metropolitanas

Pitchers Zackrie Phillips and Wilbur Martínez combined to allow just one run and seven batters drove in at least one run as the Atlánticos of Bocas del Toro and Colón posted their fourth straight win by beating the Águilas Metropolitanas 9 runs to 1.

Phillips had an excellent performance on the mound, only allowing 3 hits, no scores, and a fan of 6 batters, no walks in 5 solid innings to claim the victory for the Atlánticos, he was relieved by Wilbur Martínez who worked 4 quality innings allowing 4 hits, one run, prescribing 2 strikeouts and gave 3 walks. For the Águilas the defeat went to starter Enrique Saldaña who allowed 3 hits, 7 runs and gave 5 walks in 2.1 innings pitched.

The Atlantics scored 2 runs in the second episode, 5 scores in the third and a run in the fourth and fifth innings, the only score for the Eagles was in the ninth inning.

The Atlánticos offense was led by Jhoswan Wright who batted 2-4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBIs, while David Hollie, Camryn Williams, Randall Sánchez, Saúl Garza, Luis Castillo and Enrique Valdéz each pushed a run. For the Águilas the best was Isaías Velásquez 4-1 with 1 RBI, 1 walk; Eduardo Vaughan 3-0, 1 walk and 1 scored; Deivis Nadal with one hit in one turn.

Both teams have a free date this Monday and the activity continues this Tuesday, December 20 when the Atlánticos (4-4) will face the Astronauts (1-7) at 12 noon, while the Águilas (4-4) will face to the feds (7-1) from 7:00 pm both games at Rod Carew Stadium.
