The director of VenMundo, Tania Rimer, highlighted that World Arepa Day is a date on which solidarity among Venezuelans is remembered
The Venezuelans in the World (VenMundo) organization will hold the celebrations corresponding to World Arepa Day on Saturday, September 14, which will be 13 years old in 2024.
VenMundo, with the slogan “The arepa unites us,” seeks to reaffirm the identity of Venezuelans inside and outside the national territory through this food, according to the director of said organization, Rafael Mourad.
Mourad said that through the editions to celebrate the arepa, “significant milestones” have been achieved, such as the fact that more than 300 cities in the world where Venezuelans are based participate in this festivity and that it already enjoys international recognition because it also encourages and promotes cultural exchange.

It allows for the integration of Venezuelan communities abroad and encourages gastronomic entrepreneurship “with the participation of numerous restaurants and chefs who have adopted the arepa as a star product on their menus.”
“The arepa transcends borders, connecting Venezuelans with their country and with each other, no matter where they are,” Mourad stressed.
For her part, the director of VenMundo, Tania Rimer, highlighted that World Arepa Day is a date on which the importance of solidarity is also remembered, since this food is a symbol of sharing and helping those who need it most.
In this sense, they call on Venezuelans outside the country to celebrate the date by holding family and friends gatherings, or by holding events in commercial establishments where the arepa is promoted as a gastronomic symbol; although it can also be done with social work such as collecting food, clothing and/or medicine, also suggesting that those who can make cash donations to charitable causes can do so.
