Capriles: Maduro spends on propaganda while retirees and pensioners face hunger

Henrique Capriles criticized the government’s spending in the «Anti-Fascist World Parliamentary Forum» instead of allocating resources to public workers, pensioners and retirees, who have not received a salary increase for almost three years

The former governor of Miranda state, Henrique Capriles, criticized the spending of Nicolás Maduro’s government on the “World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum”, calling it a propaganda act that uses public resources without addressing the urgent needs of Venezuelans, while workers, retirees and Pensioners have gone almost three years without receiving a salary increase.

In a message spread on his social networks, Capriles questioned the amounts allocated to the organization of this international event and wondered how much of the public money Venezuelan citizens are paying for this activity.

«Workers, retirees and pensioners continue to suffer hunger, and this must continue to be reported.»he maintained, since the imbalance in the economy has drastically reduced the purchasing power of these sectors.

He argued that with less than a month of oil income you can advance a bonus of 100 dollars, which would be «a real preview of Christmas and real help for the people».

These statements emerged after the Maduro government received more than 300 deputies from different countries for the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, held between November 4 and 5 at the Parque Bolívar Convention Center, in La Carlota.

According to the Venezuela News agency, participants will debate issues such as the defense of parliamentary democracy, the impact of coercive measures and blockades, and the relationship between imperialism, fascism and Zionism.

At this meeting, the president of the National Assembly (A.N.) 2020 Jorge Rodríguez proposed the creation of a permanent world parliamentary forum to fight fascism, because Venezuela has been a “victim” of more than 960 sanctions that have destroyed the economy.
