They modify organ integration
The main changes that the Infonavit law will have are to reverse the control that the federal government was going to have in the surveillance and audit bodies of the institute.
One of the modifications is about The Audit Committeewhich will be integrated by three people, and not for five as mentioned in the proposal sent by President Claudia Sheinbaum. With the modification the members will be one by the federal government, one for the workers and one for the employers.
They also modified the integration of the Surveillance Committeesince previously the federal government had greater representation with five of the nine members. Now with the changes of the deputies, there will be three for each sector: government, workers and businessmen.
Another of the organs that modified its integration was of the Transparency Committeewhich this time will have a federal government representative, and not three as established at first, one of the workers and one of the business sector.
Resources to build
In the reform that will be discussed, it is preserved that the Infonavit resources and those under their administration, such as the National Housing Fund for workers, will be used for the construction of the homes carried out by the Institute through a company subsidiary.
However, this time a paragraph was added to article 42 of the Infonavit Law to emphasize that the General Directorate of the Institute will provide the “necessary” to make available to the public, periodically already through its website, information ““ Clear, simple, precise, reliable and updated ”that allows to know the financial, administrative, economic and risk situation, related to the National Housing Fund for workers.

This reform is discussed today in the afternoon in the United Commissions of Housing and the work of the Chamber of Deputies, and it is expected that it will be analyzed and voted on February 1 in the Plenary of San Lázaro. After that, the modifications must be returned to the Senate for guarantee.
The changes divided the opposition

He said that this money will be in the hands of Octavio Oropeza, who is director of the Institute, but during the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he was the head of Pemex, so he recalled that now the parastatal is “broken”.
“There are 2.4 billion pesos, it is the savings of families for years, antiques, sacrifices, today they will remain in the hands of a single man, who will be able to make decisions at ease and in whatever occurs. It is not a personal issue, it is in the hands of who are we going to leave this resource of the workers. The director of Infonavit is a specialist in agricultural matters, (but) he is not a civil engineer or architect or administrator, ”said the PRI.
