TFJA condemns SutNotimex leader for embezzlement

The Mexican State News Agency (Notimex) pointed out that the Federal Court of Administrative Justice (TFJA) condemned the leader of the Single Union of Notimex Workers (SutNotimex) Beatriz Adriana Urrea Torres for the crime of embezzlement of public funds.

In a statement, Víctor Fernández Peña, legal director, stated that Notimex applauds the measure taken by the TFJA against the leader Adriana Urrea, who is traveling in Dijon, France, and has not explained the origin of the resources that pay for her trip.

Notimex recalled that Adriana Urrea was reported to the Ministry of Public Administration (SFP) for traveling on 15 occasions to different parts of the world charged to the treasury and the now convicted could not justify the expenses of those trips that were paid by the agency.

He said that the TFJA, in its resolution, considered that Urrea Torres “is administratively responsible for the commission of serious offenses such as the diversion of public resources. Notimex, after learning of the ruling, stated that the fight against corruption is part of the fight led by the federal government and therefore asks that the other complaints filed by the current administration be continued.

This administration took on the task of combating corruption, practices that were entrenched by powerful groups that internally and externally kept this news agency hostage.Fernandez Pena said.

He added that the management of Notimex, Despite the strike used as a pressure measure, it will continue to report the irregularities detected and will request the competent investigative body, be it the Ministry of Public Administration or the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, to continue with the management of the pending processes in order to that irregularities are sanctioned.
