After an agreement signed this Friday night with the Minister of Education, Édgar Pary, the Confederation of Urban Teachers put an end to the mobilizations that had begun 11 days ago. In this signed pact, the Government ratified the creation of 3,300 items for the current school administration and set a deadline to respond to the request for 10,000 items.
The teachers’ representatives arrived after 7:00 p.m. at the offices of the Ministry of Education, after were summoned to a dialogue by the Vice Ministry of Regular Education, Bartolomé Cougar. The appointment lasted until 10:00 p.m., when white smoke came out.
In the signed document, the urban teachers they promised to lift all measures of pressure that they had installed in several departments of the country and to resume academic activities from Monday, March 21.
For his part, Minister Pary undertook to respond until April 20 to the list of demands of education professionals, including the request for 10,000 items and the payment of more than 200,000 deficit hours.
Likewise, the government authority indicated that the budget for education will be increasedwhich will be analyzed in working groups and will be done taking into account the financial capacity of the State.
What’s more, ratified the creation of 3,300 items for the present management, with which they would cover the historical deficit, the assignment of more than 10,000 hours for the subjects of chemistry and physics for the primary level and alternative education.
Also, the Executive promised to provide administrative items.
