The Tanquiscancha viewpoint is located 20 minutes from the city of Huancayo, in the district of Chilca. The crossing, to get there, is surrounded by nature with trees and dense vegetation. There is also the Winchos River that comes down from the mountains forming beautiful waterfalls along its way and giving life to these trees for generations.

According to the residents, the place is called Tanquiscancha due to the abundant native plant: the Tanquish, which is yellow in color. After a short stretch of walking, we arrive at the viewpoint that welcomes us with its well-decorated square, with railings built in the typical style and quinual logs.

We also see flowers, Andean huts, clay pots as ornaments, benches for visitors to rest and finally the great viewpoint of Tanquiscancha, from where you can see the entire Mantaro valley from the Huayucachi district to the province of Jauja. Simply, this is wonderful; we look at the valley in absolute silence together with mother nature.

In addition, the Tanquiscancha tourist circuit is a prodigious place, where we find abundant fauna and flora such as cantuta, quinual, tanquish and extensive green areas full of vegetation to the delight of all visitors.

The day of our visit, the area was celebrating the opening of this beautiful place: Tanquiscancha to the public. For this reason, we salute the work of the authorities to encourage tourism and promote new tourist destinations, since the Mantaro Valley is full of beautiful places like this one. Thus, we end the wonderful journey.
