The Minister of Defense, Jorge Taiana, assured this Friday that the recognition of the Argentine people “will be permanent” for those who fought in the Malvinas, by inaugurating a new pharmacy building in the Central Military Hospital, called “Coronel Mayor Hautcoeur” in honor of a veteran of the conflict that the country sustained with Great Britain in 1982 for the sovereignty of the South Atlantic islands.
“The recognition of our people for war veterans will be permanent and the best way to do it is by reaffirming the commitment to recover the effective exercise of the sovereignty of our islands, as established by our National Constitution. Today we value a man who served military health for a quarter of a century in this establishment,” Taiana said according to a statement released by the Defense portfolio.
And in that sense, the official stated that “it is an honor that this building bears the name of a Malvinas veteran such as Colonel Mayor Hautcoeur. I am very honored to be able to share this ceremony with you,” said Taiana.
Then the minister unveiled a “Recognition” plaque, in honor of retired pharmaceutical colonel Pablo Edmundo Hautcoeur, who was part of the Health Company of the Logistics Battalion 3 “Curuzú Cuatiá”, as specified in the text released by Defense.

Taiana explained that, ahead of the next 40th anniversary of the Malvinas Warthe naming of the new building “is a way of acknowledging the importance, commitment and respect that all those who have fought on the islands have given us”.
The new facility is located in the “Cirujano Mayor Dr. Cosme Argerich” Central Military Hospital, so that it “works as a centralized pharmacy warehouse” and that “it will allow to store, manage and distribute, in a more efficient way, all the supplies and medicines that a highly complex hospital needs for its operation,” it was reported.
The Minister of Defense took advantage of the occasion to congratulate “all military personnel, civilians, doctors and assistants of the Central Military Hospital for the enormous task carried out in the most difficult moments of the pandemic” of coronavirus.
“When a year ago it seemed that intensive therapies were overflowing with their capacity, here, as in other health centers, patriotism, professionalism and a willingness to serve were demonstrated, which left us only words of thanks to each and every that we inhabit this country” he continued, while considering the work carried out by health personnel as a “deed”.
Taiana was accompanied at the ceremony by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Division General Guillermo Olegario Pereda, the Chief of the Ministry’s Cabinet, Héctor Mazzei, and the Secretary of International Affairs for Defense, Francisco Cafiero.
