The plenary session of Congress has on the agenda today, Tuesday, February 1, the debate on the opinions that modify the University Law, regarding the reconfiguration of the board of directors of the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu) and the extension of the term of operation of the non-licensed private universities.
In the first case, the legislative proposal considers change the board of directors of Sunedu. Regarding this initiative, legislators such as Flor Pablo (Purple Party) indicated that this measure would imply attacking the autonomy of this entity.

In addition, the legislator and former Minister of Education, told the Andean Agency that the independent work carried out by said institution would be affected and it would return to what was once the National Assembly of Rectors.
About him another opinion, it is about the extension of the term so that they continue operating without complying with the basic quality conditions, which goes against what students require.
The schedule for the debate of both opinions is set for today, Wednesday, February 1, indicates the agenda of the Congress. The President of the Parliament, María del Carmen Alva, will be the one to set the time for the debate to begin.
Among other parliamentary activities for this Tuesday, February 1, from 08:00 am the Cesip-OECD Special Commission will meet, which has as a guest the national superintendent of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration, Louis Vera.
The Sunedu was created by Law No. 30220 (University Law), published on July 24, 2014, replacing the National Assembly of Rectors and the former National Council for the Authorization of the Operation of Universities (Conafu).
