Starting this Tuesday and for an indefinite period of time, passenger transport business chambers reduced by 50% the frequencies of the routes of collective operating in the AMBA (Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area).
The decision of the transport companies is due to the claim for the delay in the payment of the subsidies to the rates, for which the service of collectivebut with a lower frequency in all the routes of the Transport system.
This, since the measure of force affects the lines of collective from number 1 to 799, which operate in the City of Buenos Aires, the suburbs of Buenos Aires and La Plata.
The protest was called by the companies grouped in the Business Chamber of Passenger Transport (CEAP), the Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires (CETUBA) and the Chamber of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires (CTPBA).
The cameras pointed out, in a press release, that They made this decision “due to the considerable delay verified in the accreditation of the funds of the tariff compensations corresponding to the higher costs incurred during the current year.
And they added: “in order not to totally interrupt benefits and make them compatible with available financial resources, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19, at 00:00 hours, services will be provided with 50% of the normal and usual frequency. ”.
With the measure, the businessmen hope that the Government will respond to their demands, since the carriers stated: “we are all very concerned. It is a decision that the companies make together to be able to give the State a greater possibility of time so that it begins to normalize payments and we can function without problems.”
How many groups leave circulation with the measure of force
According to transport companies, they will stop operating 18,300 buses; those that continue in circulation travel at the same time and usual frequency.
However, the transport companies warned that, if they do not receive a response, the strike will not only be extended but will be generalized.
