Steel companies and steel pipe producers get ready to participate in the El Cuchillo II aqueduct

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda assured that this week they will start together with Conagua and Caintra the selection of steel companies, those specializing in tubes and construction companies, as well as steel companies installed in the state and the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) Nuevo Leonare ready to participate in the construction of the aqueduct The Knife II.

“This week is key, we are going to start, together with Conagua and Caintra, to select those who are going to get the steel, the pipe workers who are going to prepare the pipeline and the construction companies that are going to go assembling the pipeline until reaching the city of Monterrey”, said the governor, in a tour of Doctor González, China, and Los Ramones this Saturday, August 20.

The tubes required for the construction of the El Cuchillo II aqueduct are 84 inches (large dimension). Among the main steel producers is Ternium Mexico Steel and among the main steel pipe manufacturers are: Tubacero, Villacero, Tenaris Tamsa (part of Ternium), ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Monterrey, and Forza Steel, according to data from Canacero.

On the third day of Expo Pyme, the local press asked Juan Antonio Espinosa, director of Supply for Cemex Mexico, if they are going to participate in this work; “It will be beneficial, we are prepared, we are ready for any growth in demand. There is a unit that attends to that (projects), it is the government attention unit”.

“At DeAcero, any infrastructure project is of interest, we will surely be participating, such as the New Felipe Ángeles Airport and the Mayan Train, works in which we have been participating,” said Iván Martínez, Vice President of Strategic Purchasing and Supply at DeAcero.

Construction companies

Governor Samuel García estimated that once the pipe is in place, in October or November the sections are assigned, first the coordination and supervision of a construction company and then, “we are going to divide this entire pipeline into 10 sections and, to do it 10 times faster, each stroke is going to be given to a construction company”.

For its part, the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC), Nuevo León delegation, commented that as a representative body of the construction sector that brings together the large construction companies of Nuevo León, which have carried out emblematic works of the state and whose affiliates employ 110,000 formal workers of the construction.

And he asked the committee that will evaluate the companies that are going to participate in this work, to assign those who can prove their experience, operational capacity and financial solvency and security.

“Furthermore, I want to reiterate that the construction companies that are part of the Chamber are the most competent to develop this important work, since the culture of training and competitiveness of our institution allows them to have the most prepared and up-to-date personnel,” the agency emphasized. .

He thanked the federal and state governments for complying with their commitment to assign the work of El Cuchillo to state companies, as well as the transparency with which the processes are carried out.

Finally, the governor assured that the work will be carried out in 10 sections to the San Roque water treatment plant located in the municipality of Juárez, where chemicals are added to the water to make it drinkable and from there it will be distributed to the metropolitan area, 5,000 liters per second.
