The government will report this Monday on the following measures to be taken regarding the State of Exception, in force since May 17 in the provinces of Biobío and Arauco, in the Biobío region, and in the entire region of La Araucanía. That is to say, the Executive will communicate if they will maintain the provision and if they will expand the coverage, since it is currently limited to routes and highways.
President Gabriel Boric commented on Saturday that “on Monday we will communicate how we continue in this process.”

The President received on Thursday a balance from the Ministry of the Interior, coordinated with the Armed Forces and Carabineros, on the State of Exception in the southern zone. He was also handed a proposal on the measure.
“We have deepened on Friday regarding how the State of Emergency is operating, we have reviewed it together with the Armed Forces, Carabineros,” said Boric, adding that they have spoken with “the different authorities in the area” and communities.
“In order to make decisions about this, you have to listen a lot and make decisions very firmly as well,” said the head of state.
Let us remember that on Tuesday the Mapuche forest worker died John Second Catril after unknown individuals shot a minibus in which they were traveling, between Lumaco and Tirúa. A projectile hit Catril in the head, who died within hours.
The attack also left two other workers injured.
