Start Cycle of Sociopolitical Training in Human Rights at UNES

This Wednesday begins the Sociopolitical Training Cycle on Human Rights at the National Experimental Security University (UNES), with emphasis on the case of the kidnapping by the United States (USA) of diplomat Alex Saab.

The information was released by the Ministry for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace through a message on the social network Twitter, in which it specified that the forum was held at the UNES headquarters.

“The Sociopolitical Training Cycle on Human Rights begins at @UNESUniversidad, where the case of diplomat Alex Saab will be discussed,” the Ministry published.

For his part, he Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and PeaceRemigio Ceballos, during his speech at the Sociopolitical Training Cycle on Human Rights, stressed that the national government is making progress in teaching police officers respect for citizens.

“We continue to make progress in teaching and training our police officers,” he said.

More than 600 UNES students in training

The beginning of the Sociopolitical Training Cycle on Human Rights has more than 600 students from UNES.

Likewise, representatives of the Free Alex Saab Movement, a movement dedicated to defending the diplomat and Venezuela against the block imposed by the US, as well as authorities from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, will participate in the event.

Saab case

It should be remembered that the Alex Saab Movement arises to inform the world about the kidnapping of the Venezuelan diplomat by the United States.

Alex Saab was illegally detained in Cape Verde on June 12, 2020, despite having diplomatic immunity. He was tortured and held incommunicado in a jail in the African country. Then, last October, they handed him over to the United States, which requested his deportation, despite the fact that Cape Verde does not have an extradition treaty with Washington.

In Venezuela, a series of meetings and debates have been held on the case of diplomat Alex Saab.

Discussions are currently taking place about his illegal kidnapping and the presentation of the book The kidnapping of Alex Saab, a legal analysis of the Venezuelan lawyer Indhriana Parada, will take place during the 18th edition of the International Book Fair of Venezuela (Filven) 2022.
