The Office of the First Lady of the Republic led by Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, together with the Ministry of Education and Fundesteam, held the Seventh Regional Robotics corresponding to the province of Chiriquí and the Ngäbe Buglé Region.
“This year the students create, build and present innovative projects based on the theme Connecting the World, it is incredible how our participants develop solutions that benefit the community at such a high level,” said the first lady.
During the event that took place at the David Pan American Institute, the participants of the eight categories showed the first lady their projects. Approximately 100 teams with 279 participants between the ages of 8 to 19 years old registered in this competition.
“Students go through two rounds of evaluations where the judges go table by table to observe each of the projects,” explained Alexander Cáceres, President of Fundesteam judges.
In total, 16 Robotics Regionals will be held. The eighth competition will take place next Monday, July 3 and corresponds to the district of San Miguelito.
The first lady was accompanied by the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, Juan Carlos Muñóz, Governor of the province of Chiriquí, and by Marvin Castillo, Executive Director of Fundesteam.
