Social Christians assure that they will not support the removal of President Lasso

The political organization is unmarked from the intentions of the correístas and Pachakutik sectors. Jaime Nebot assured that disagreeing is not conspiring.

The Christian Social Party (PSC) announced this November 7, 2021 that it will not support the removal of a President of the Republic outside the Constitution and the Law.

This position has been established, through an official statement, in response to the report presented by the Commission of Constitutional Guarantees of the National Assembly about the so-called Pandora Papers.

In that report, approved with six votes from Pachakutik and UNES, it was determined that the president of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, breached the ethical pact consecrated by popular consultation in 2017 and which is related to the prohibition to exercise public office to the direct or indirect owners of goods or capital directly or indirectly in tax havens.

The PSC warns that this type of accusation, without sufficient grounds and evidence, can bring serious consequences, not only to the Chief Executive but to all Ecuadorians.

In addition, the political organization rejected the intention to use, without legal or legal basis, the figure of an alleged internal commotion to make the removal of the president viable.

The social christians, however they point out that the plenary session of the Assembly National It could send, if it considers that there are sufficient merits, the necessary documentation for the competent authorities and organizations to investigate.

“The collective prosperity that Ecuadorians deserve is not achieved by creating more chaos,” the statement said.

This unchecking of the coup positions of other sectors does not change the position of the PSC on other issues such as tax reform.

The party, which has fourteen votes in the AssemblyHe ratified that he will oppose the creation or increase of taxes, because they threaten the growth and prosperity of Ecuadorians, but that this attitude will never be a pretext to violate the rule of law.

In this sense, the statement concludes that they will continue to demand that the commitments that they jointly with the President of the Republic acquired with the Ecuadorian people be fulfilled, but that they will do so without destabilizing democracy.

Through his Twitter account, the president for life of the PSC, Jamie nebot, he hung up the advertisement for his political organization repeating the title: »Let it be clear to you now. Disagreeing is not conspiring! ». (JS)
