Small companies generate 220 thousand jobs in February, points out Sebrae

A survey carried out by Sebrae, based on data from the new General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), shows that micro and small companies (MSEs) had a positive balance of job creation in February.Small companies generate 220 thousand jobs in February, points out Sebrae

According to the survey released today (7), small businesses were responsible for 220,066 new jobs in the second month of 2022, reaching about 67% of the total volume, which includes enterprises of all sizes.

The service sector was the one that hired the most among micro and small enterprises, adding up to 134,024 new jobs. Subsequently, civil construction registered the opening of 31,517 new jobs.

Among the Brazilian regions, micro and small companies in the Midwest were the ones that had the best performance, opening 27 thousand new jobs for every thousand existing ones. The North region comes next, with 20,000 new hires. The South region, on the other hand, closed the month with 17,000 new hires. The Southeast and Northeast, respectively, guaranteed 14,000 and 12,000 new jobs.

According to Sebrae, in 2022, MSEs created 304,525 new vacancies, which is equivalent to 63.5% of the entire volume of jobs generated this year.

Despite the performance in the month, Caged points out that, in the first two months of 2021, micro and small businesses held 82.1% of the volume of new vacancies. The result dropped in 2022, when MSEs registered a rate of 68.7% in the volume of new vacancies.
