The congressman Sigrid Bazan (Democratic Change) highlighted the initiative of the President of the Republic, peter castleabout submitting a bill to Parliament to promote a referendum where the population is consulted if they want to change or not the current Political Constitution.
The legislator, through her social networks, described the president’s proposal as “democratic” and stressed that the opinion of the public will be sought.
“The Government announces that it will present a PL so that in the next Regional and Municipal elections the people are consulted on a New Constitution. Nothing more democratic than listening to the feelings of the citizens, who cry out for real changesthrough a popular consultation”, he wrote on his Twitter account.

The pronouncements also came from the Executive, when the Minister Alexander Salas (Culture) He ruled that Parliament will be in charge of evaluating the Executive’s request.
“The bill will be up to the Congress of the Republic to evaluate itbut what we should never be afraid of as democrats and Peruvians is that citizens express themselves at the polls”, he commented from Cusco.
Likewise, the former Minister of Women Anahi Durand was in favor of the announcement and pointed out that it would be a good opportunity to demonstrate that the constituent assembly is strongly requested from various sectors of the population.

“Given the demand for a new constitution raised by a large part of the country, the president proposes a PL for the sovereign to decide in a referendum.
