The congresswoman for Democratic Change Sigrid Bazán urged the prosecution of the Nation to quickly investigate the alleged confession of Sebastián Palacín Newell, son of the president of Indecopi, Julián Palacín, then publish a video where he narrated that he participated in an alleged rape.
“Faced with the reprehensible facts described in a video published by Sebastián Palacín about the sexual assault against two women, from my office we have sent a letter to the Prosecutor’s Office so that this The fact is investigated quickly and, if responsibilities are found, it is punished in an exemplary manner”, he wrote on Twitter.
In a letter addressed to the National Prosecutor, Pablo Sánchez, the legislator requested that the necessary proceedings be initiated to determine if the events narrated by Palacín Newell in a social network constitute some type of infraction or crime.

“In this regard, Mr. Prosecutor, everyone knows the daily struggle that women in our country carry out to not be subject to a new episode of violence. For this reason, it is unacceptable that the citizen has narrated events with total normality and impudence in a social network that is characterized by being public”, he alleged.

This Tuesday, April 26, the Public Ministry opened preliminary investigation against Sebastián Palacín Newell for the alleged commission of the crime of rape to the detriment of two unidentified citizens, after the son of Julian Palacín, head of Indecopi, recognized the sexual abuse in a video.
The preliminary diligence will be in charge of the provincial prosecutor José Luis Huarhua Ortiz, of the First Office of the Third Provincial Corporate Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Violence Against Women and Members of the Family Group of Lima, for 60 days.
