A serious incident occurred this morning at the Retiro station on line C of the subwaywhere, in circumstances that are still being investigated, a police officer was seriously injured.
According to the first statements of the witnesses, who at that time were on line C of the subwaythe officer intervened in a discussion held by a worker from the Emova company, in charge of the transport serviceand a man, who turned out to be the attacker.
When trying to intervene in the discussion, the man would have taken the weapon provided to the police, which caused the shooting in the subway. During the terrible event, the woman received two bullet wounds, one in the chest and the other in the neck.
The Emova operator was also shot at hip height, however, he is stable and was treated at the Fernández Hospital; while the officer suffered serious injuries and she had to be transferred by helicopter to Churruca, where according to reports she underwent surgery.
The woman was identified as Analía Salazar, a member of the Line C, D, E, H and Premetro Division. About her state of health, the head of SAME, Alberto Crescenti explained: “The team that arrived found a police officer with two bullet wounds, we began to do resuscitation maneuvers to compensate her, then two more teams arrived and we continued with the massage. They confirmed that we have brought her out of cardiac arrest.”
Official sources reported that the officer “was admitted to the operating room due to a gunshot wound in the chest and neck region with involvement of the left lung,” however, she died.
For his part, the attacker was identified as Oscar Gustavo Valdez and detained in front of the Sheraton Hotel, after he fled down the stairs of the station after injuring the officer and the operator. The man would have a history of gender violence.
Line C service is interrupted
As reported by Emova, the service of line C is limited after the attack on the official line. In this way, the formations circulate between the Constitución and San Martín stations. In addition, in Retiro the movement of vehicles was cut off.
The situation caused panic among the passengers, since the attack occurred at the station ticket office, where at that time hundreds of citizens were waiting for the formation.
