SANTO DOMINGO.- A shipwreck has reportedly occurred in the Caribbean Sea near Juan Dolio, in the province of San Pedro de Macorís.
In videos sent to the El Día editorial team, boats can be seen arriving at the shore of Juan Dolio beach with people who had been rescued from the shipwreck.
Authorities from the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Defense and members of the M-2 were present at the site.
It is unknown whether there are any victims or how many people were involved in the shipwreck.
Dozens of curious people have arrived at the place.
