For his part, the Secretary of Mobility Andres Lajous highlighted the importance of Insurgentes as a road, since it is not only an avenue that connects the north with the south of Mexico City, but also links work, business, educational centers. , so a permanent bike lane was necessary.

“This bike lane serves many neighborhoods in the City, it serves three mayors’ offices and allows cycling trips on this avenue to have increased substantially to have comfortable and safe trips.”

He added that the Insurgentes bike lane also connects with Metro, Metrobús, Trolebús and other bike lanes.

Jesús Esteva, Secretary of Works of the City of Mexico, explained that the Insurgentes cycle path has a length of 28.56 km where more than 63,000 square meters of asphalt were marked out, 100,000 new plants were placed and as an improvement in the urban image, 12 artistic murals.
