His life is marked by pain. Her story came to light after she abandoned her newborn son and was identified through a phone call.
The Departmental Police of Santa Cruz reported this Thursday that they identified the mother of the baby who was abandoned in La Guardia, on January 8, and revealed that she is a minor, only 14 years old.
The investigation also revealed that the girl was raped by Tomás Z., her father, who forced her to abandon the newborn.
The commander of the Santa Cruz Police, Erick Holguín, recalled that the baby was abandoned at three weeks old and the investigation work was activated.

“On Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11:00 am, an anonymous phone call was received that referred to the identity and location of the mother of the abandoned baby in La Guardia,” Holguín reported.
“After a month of investigation, in the International Neighborhood of the Los Lotes area, a minor under 14 years of age was arrested, initially identified as the mother of the baby,” he explained.
However, since it was a girl, the Police inquired about the whereabouts of the newborn’s father.
Thus, for the psychological interview, the girl’s parents put together an alibi, giving her instructions about the version of events that they invented, but it did not go as planned. The girl said that her father had raped her.
“According to the minor’s version, the father would have been the one who induced her to abandon the baby in Cotoca, in La Guardia,” the police chief reported.
Given the evidence, the girl’s father confessed to the crime and was prosecuted and sent to jail. “He has been given 25 years in prison at the Palmasola rehabilitation center,” the police authority reported.
