Servel will deliver $7.7 billion pesos to political parties in 2022: RN and UDI lead amounts

The Electoral Service (Servel) will deliver an amount of $7,765,169,351 pesos to political parties during this 2022, as established in resolution No. 0111, dated January 20. According to current legislation, the money is delivered quarterly to the parties, which must use it for expenses related to their operation.

According to the Constitutional Organic Law of Political Parties, the Servel pays 0.04 UF multiplied by the number of votes validly cast in the last election of deputies in favor of the candidates of each community.

According to Third, Renovación Nacional (RN) will be the party that will receive the most money, with $321,652,265 in its first contribution. It is followed by the UDI ($297,212,475), the DC ($196,481,824), the PS ($187,354,362), the PPD ($124,824,954), the RD ($110,025,541), the PC and Evópoli ($94,703. 566).

For its part, Comunes will receive $40,485,632. Let us remember that the former candidate for senator and metropolitan governor, karina oliveformer militant of the community, is being investigated for the payment of bulky bills to his advisers after his campaign for the Regional Government.

The People’s Party (PDG) -which raised the presidential candidacy of French Parisian– will get more than $19 million. The party has been questioned because part of its campaign expenses were directed to those close to the commercial engineer.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party, in which the former presidential candidate Jose Antonio Kastyou will receive $19,821,003.

As for the parties that will obtain the least amount of amounts, there are Nuevo Tiempo and the National Citizen Party (both with $3,497,824), Patriotic Union and the Christian Conservative Party (both with $4,663,765).

Use and delivery of contributions

According to article 40 of the Organic Constitutional Law of Political Parties, the expenses must be directed to “operation of the party, the acquisition or lease of real estate, the payment of debts, the development of civic education activities for citizens, the preparation of candidates for elected positions, training of militants, preparation of studies”, among others.

The amounts are delivered quarterly, that is, four times a year. Prior to its delivery, the parties must have their monetary balances approved by Servel.
