Senators agree to eliminate mandatory use of masks

Senators such as Stephan Rasmussen, from the Patria Querida party (PPQ), and José “Pakova” Ledesma, from the Liberal party (PLRA), agree that the mandatory use of face masks should be eliminated.

Both explained their points of view for 730 AM. Rasmussen stated that he still does not have an opinion on the bill. And that he will not be on the agenda this Thursday either. However, he affirms that the mask is important only in closed places.

“To be very honest, we haven’t discussed it yet in the bench and it’s not yet on the agenda. For me, the mask is important to use in closed places, ”he expressed.

LEDESMA

José “Pakova” Ledesma, affirmed for his part that many people are asking for the mandatory use of it to be removed.

“Hopefully that law will be repealed,” he said.

Last Wednesday, March 9, the Chamber of Deputies gave half sanction to the project “That repeals Law 6,699/2020, which provides for the mandatory use of hygienic masks in the framework of the emergency due to the Covid-19 or Coronavirus pandemic”. The initiative was presented by legislator Jorge Brítez (Independent).

Almost a month has passed and it is still not dealt with by the Upper House.

It should be remembered that the Executive, through an official statement, announced on February 22, the elimination of sanitary measures, except for the mandatory use of masks in public spaces.
