Senate makes Budget 2022 law

The piece has already been approved in the Chamber of Deputies, so it must now go to the Executive Power for its enactment

The Senate of the Republic approved in two readings the bill of the General State Budget for the year 2022. It has already been approved in the Chamber of Deputies.

Two-thirds voted in favor of the approval of the bill, which contemplates an amount of one billion 214 thousand 606 million seven thousand 369 pesos. The estimates of income and consolidated financial sources, constituted by the Central Government, Autonomous and Decentralized Non-Financial Organizations and Public Social Security Institutions, amount to RD $ 1,155,565,310,650.

When detailing the project of the General State Budget, it contains consolidated income of RD $ 930,526,614,050 and financial sources for an amount of RD $ 284,079,393,319 consolidated.
The bill contemplates in its article 5 consolidated financial expenses constituted by an amount of RD $ 1,214,606,007,369.

While the consolidated financial deficit is for RD $ 172,577,835,974).
Regarding the Supreme Court of Justice, the president of the Chamber of Deputies Alfredo Pacheco expressed that after the approval of the last supplementary and reformulated budget, an additional RD $ 2,500 million was given, RD $ 1,500 million to the Public Ministry and RD $ 750 million to the Central Electoral Board.

Other budget items
In the 2022 General State Budget bill, which was approved urgently, amounts such as RD $ 53,729.4 million are also contemplated for public investment, with a concentration of 48.2% in projects of an economic and social nature (RD $ 25,917.1 million), 23.3% in productive development projects (RD $ 12,516.9 million), 18% in sustainable development projects (RD $ 9,650.6 million) and 10.5% in institutional development projects (RD $ 5,644.8 million).
