Senate does not reach an agreement and suspends the voting date of the fourth withdrawal

There is no agreement. After several hours of meeting, the Parliamentary Committee did not reach an agreement to table the project for the fourth withdrawal of 10% of the pension funds, leaving in the air the possibility of voting before the presidential elections of 21 of November.

The president of the Senate, Ximena Rincón (DC) reported that the Board will make a new proposal to define the date on which the initiative will be voted on.

“It has not been possible to build an agreement on the pending issues, and tomorrow as a Table we will make a proposal in a committee meeting for the vote next week. We will propose as a Table the vote for the fourth retreat on Tuesday” November 9 Rincon said.

According to information from Radio Bío Bío, The reason is that the senators have not been able to reach an agreement on the voting order of the projects for the fourth retirement and pardon for the prisoners of the social outbreak.

In this regard, the Senator of National Renovation (RN), Rodrigo Galilea said that different points of view were expressed during the meeting, so the Board will collect all these views to make a new proposal.

The parliamentarian said that one of the alternatives is for the projects, having various indications, to be seen in the Chamber “and simply forward them to the committees to see them not only in general, but also in particular.”

Meanwhile, Senator Carlos Bianchi pointed his darts to the right, accusing that “he has a special enthusiasm in placing a pardon and is placing it to be able to torpedo the fourth withdrawal. (…) They are using it as a bargaining chip.”
