Deputy Commissioner Luis Rodríguez of the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN) explained on Radio Panama that Operation Proteo has been implemented in the Las Perlas Archipelago and the coasts of Panama East and Panama West in the Pacific, due to criminal acts that have occurred in the area and where a few days ago two sailboats were stolen in February and March.
«Operation Proteo consists of having air patrols, in addition to a patrol boat with coastal patrol boats, in addition to air-naval command and we have made contact with the Public Ministry to carry out raids at points in the Pearl Archipelago, this operation not only consists of not only on sailboats, but also to reinforce the coasts of Panama East and Panama West”, explained Rodríguez.
