Cabello: The battle against corruption belongs to everyone and we will win it

“We are all in this battle against corruption and together we will win this fight,” said Diosdado Cabello, a deputy to the National Assembly (AN) for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), on Friday.

During his speech before the plenary session of the National Assembly, the parliamentarian stressed: “This is not a fight only between the President of the Republic, Nicolas MaduroIt’s a fight for everyone.”

He reiterated that “this battle belongs to all of us and we are going to win this fight together, there are people who do not like this law, but whoever has a corrupt friend will also catch the breeze.”

Likewise, he stressed that “corruption goes beyond the public, it is associated with businessmen. They are resources that must be used for the common good.”

He said that this fight against this scourge is not new. “With Chávez, that battle of accomplices was broken. The Judicial Revolution has been advancing,” he said.

Judges and special courts

Deputy Diosdado Cabello emphasized that special judges and courts will be created for these acts of corruption and in the event of determining “negotiation with those involved, the same sanction as those involved will be applied, so there is no doubt and they know what their role is.”

He stressed that the assets and resources of these events will be arranged to protect the people. Public services will be guaranteed and infrastructure will be expanded, among other works.

He noted that “this law has something interesting: there is no reserve in any bank, they are obliged to report it.”

He also added another detail: collaboration. “Those who contribute to these cases will receive some of the resources depending on their collaboration, this will be determined by the judge.”

He explained that “the State will reward you for helping to recover the resources of the State. It seeks to repair the damage caused.”

Widespread annoyance: no second chances

He commented that he has noticed the annoyance in the town before the recent acts of corruption, and asked that no one get into trouble, because there will be no second chances, Cabello stressed.

“I have felt the annoyance of the people in the face of these events. I have said harsh things. I urge the deputies not to get involved in pods, do not get involved in anything, there will be no forgiveness for that, our people trust us, ”he said.

He stressed that “there will be no second chance. The people trust us.”

Before concluding his intervention, Cabello expressed his gratitude “for having allowed me to present this project. Morale high to face corruption, whoever falls falls “.

Opposition votes positive

For his part, the deputy for the opposition, Luis Eduardo Martínez, indicated that this bloc gave the bill a first reading and “the democratic opposition will vote positively on it in the first discussion and will make the necessary observations.”

He categorically repudiated corruption at any time “and we demand the greatest speed and penalties against those guilty of any crime.”

In this sense, the opposition party calls for “extreme control measures, multiply citizen control and sow a culture of values, to train honest citizens.”

Domain Forfeiture Law

This Friday, in an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, the first discussion of the draft Organic Law on Extinction Of domain.

With this discussion, the laws related to the fight against corruption are reviewed, remembering that for this purpose a subcommittee headed by the deputy Rodbexa Poleo was created.

This commission has the purpose of organizing, systematizing, evaluating and applying comparative law to the set of existing regulations on the matter, indicates the AN.

Given this first approval of the draft Organic Law of Extinction of Dominio, the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, said: “Everything that is the product of corruption must be returned to the people. Absolutely everything”.

He also stressed that in this crime the victim is the people, the one who was robbed, and to whom the main betrayal was done.

“The greatest betrayal is to that town, and that town must be compensated, it must be repaired,” he added.
