SENAD agents from Regional Department No. 1 in Pedro Juan Caballero, in coordination with prosecutor Celso Morales, went to a wooded area of Estancia San Miguel, located in Colonia Santa Clara, where they were looking for a production and storage center for drugs.
After an intense patrol in the area, the interveners detected 180 bags containing a total of 5,400 kilograms of chopped marijuana.
It is presumed that the drug was transferred from a plantation area to that point, for its subsequent transfer in a large vehicle. The prosecutor ordered the destruction of the drug found, after extracting samples.
According to managed data, this volume of drugs was destined for the Brazilian market, where its price exceeds one million US dollars.
