The National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) notified Apple today (30) to provide information, within 72 hours, on the safety of Airpods headphones, manufactured by the company.
The measure was taken after the news emerged about a 12-year-old teenager who had suffered hearing damage from the use of the accessory. The case took place in the United States.
According to the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Anderson Torres, Senacon’s concern is with the safety of Brazilian consumers.
“We are investigating a possible defect and consequent risk to the health and safety of Brazilian consumers. The intention is for the company to act with transparency and collaborate with national and international authorities to immediately clarify the case,” he said in a statement.
THE Brazil Agency contacted Apple Brazil and is awaiting a response.
