Economy Minister Sergio Massa and Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero received this Thursday the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Argentina, Hussein M. Alassiri and executives of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), who announced that they will finance works in the energy and food health sectors for 500 million dollars, according to the Palacio de Hacienda.
In the reception was also present the Secretary of International Economic Relations of the Foreign Ministry, Cecilia Todesca Bocco.
The announcement was made in the framework of the efforts made by the authorities of the Ministry of Economy and the Palacio San Martín before the government of Saudi Arabia.
In this sense, SFD representatives arrived in Argentina this week with the mission of learning about the requirements and agreeing on funding priorities of strategic projects in Argentina.
During the meeting, SFD directors analyzed projects presented by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness and the Ministry of Public Worksand confirmed their interest in financing projects for 500 million dollars.

These projects are part of a financing program that includes to the energy sector, in which the Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline stands out, and projects related to food security, as well as support for the development of regional economies.
The agenda of meetings of the Saudi Fund for Development in our country was extended for more than a week including meetings with the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón; the Secretary for International Economic and Financial Relations, Marco Lavagna; the Secretary of Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness, Jorge Neme, and the Secretary of Public Works, Carlos Rodríguez.
