The Control Commission began its ordinary session with the participation of the nephew of the President Pedro Castillo, Friar Vasquez Castillowithin the framework of the investigations carried out by the working group on the clandestine meetings that took place at the home of the Casa Sarratea, Breña.
As part of his response, he stated that he did not work “in the Government Palace since he is not a public official.” Meanwhile, regarding his presence at Sarratea’s house, he confirmed that he had eventually gone.
Regarding the links he would have with the lobbyist Karelim López, the nephew stated that he says he does not know her, “Only through the journalistic videos did I remember that I have received it and on one occasion.”
“To the president, who is my uncle, we always go to greet him for family matters. When he comes we take advantage because it is difficult to do it in the Palace. When the president retires, I was going to do it too, when I open the door I find her outside”he explained. In that line, maintained that López was “looking for some gentlemen to give him some invitations and out of chivalry he made her come in”.
Regarding the delivery of the false documents, Vásquez maintained that actions have already been taken and that he will respond to the Prosecutor’s Office, therefore, he will remain silent.
