São Paulo opens this Monday the fifth global agribusiness forum

Today (25), in São Paulo, the fifth edition of the Global Agribusiness Forum (GAF), which is one of the main agribusiness meetings in the world, began. Held every two years, the 2022 edition of the event integrates agribusiness efforts to overcome the challenge of feeding the global population in the coming decades. The 5th GAF has as its theme Food Security, Climate Change and Sustainability, to be addressed by national and international speakers.São Paulo opens this Monday the fifth global agribusiness forum

The event lasts for two days, with more than 100 speakers who will speak about the challenge of feeding the world and the global perspective by 2050; biotechnology, food safety and sustainability; circular economy and food waste reduction; the challenge of sustainable production in a time of conflict; and the future of world trade.

By participating in the opening ceremony, President Jair Bolsonaro highlighted the importance of the sector. “Agro gives us food security, as well as more than 1 billion people around the world,” said the president.

The GAF is carried out jointly by several entities, including the Brazilian Rural Society; the Brazilian Corn Producers Association; the International Corn Alliance; the Zebu Cattle Breeders Association; the Brazilian Association of Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives; the National Sugar-Energy Forum, the National Corn Ethanol Union, the Brazilian Animal Protein Association and Datrago Consultoria.
