The Uruguayan Dermatology Society (SDU) indicated that the increased salinity in the water that SBI applied in the metropolitan area more than a week ago to maintain supply in the area “does not represent a risk to the skin of the general population”but recommends “short showers” and use moisturizing creams “without color or perfume”in a statement to which he agreed The Observer.
These recommendations are due to the fact that the increase in sodium values in drinking water it can cause an “increased dryness of the skin.” In addition to short baths and colorless creams, dermatologists also urge “use soaps with mild cleansing agents”.
“It is not recommended for cleaning the skin the use of scented, antibacterial soaps, laundry soaps and the use of sponges”they affirmed from the SDU.
On the other hand, the Society also addressed the “people with previous dermatological pathologies who are especially sensitive to dry skin” already the “infants and children with dermatitis”to whom he warns that “they may require repeating the application of emollient creams more times a day” than the ones they normally use.
In the case of “a push from their disease”, the group asks these people to consult with a dermatologist.
