512 – “I bear the wounds of Christ on my body”. Gal 6, 17
All of us are invited to identify ourselves with Christ: having his gaze towards others, his words, his gestures, his attention. The ideal for all Christians is to be able to say, like Saint Paul: “It is no longer I who lives, it is Christ who lives in me”. The saints are examples of people who managed to live this identification in a very high way. Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, the Capuchin saint whose day we celebrate today, lived it so strongly that, even on his hands, feet and side, he had the stigmata of Christ. May his impressive example of him help us seek to do the same. Peace and good.
