Ruth Luque: “Resignation letter from former MTC vice minister forces us to rethink this sector”

The spokeswoman for Together for Peru, said that the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) should be reconsidered with the departure of the head of the sector, Juan Silva, after the letter of resignation presented by former Vice Minister Fabiola Caballero.

“What the former Deputy Minister of Transport denounced yesterday puts on the table a little the need on the part of the Government and especially in the portfolio of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, to be honest about how this set of appointments has been made”he pointed out this Saturday in statements to Radio Nacional.

In a letter published this Friday, Fabiola Caballero denounced that the ministry has become an “apparent employment agency to take over placements” that require experienced and qualified officials.

“The Transport sector cannot be subject to the job takeover of citizens who do not meet the merits and technical capabilities required to guarantee the efficiency of the management entrusted to them in key positions”denounced the resigning deputy minister.

“With what happened yesterday with the letter of resignation, it is forced to rethink this sector”asserted the spokesperson for Together for Peru.

Ruth Luque recalled that they voted in favor of questioning Minister Juan Silva and that she, in a personal capacity, supported the motion of censure against him.

“When I spoke directly with the president the only time he went to the Palace as a spokesperson, I let him know my individual position, that the Minister of Transport should no longer be in charge of this sector”commented.
