Moscow, March 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian aviation shot down 51 military targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the last night, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of this country, Major General Igor Konashénkov, reported today.
He indicated that at the same time the Russian military advanced four kilometers and put under their control the towns of Batmanka, Mijáilovka, Krasny Partizan, Stavki and Troitskoye, in an offensive against the units of the Ukrainian 25th Airborne Brigade.
According to the report, Ka-52 and Mi-28N helicopters destroyed 24 military equipment of the kyiv troops, including seven tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles and three armored personnel carriers.
He noted that Russian air defense systems shot down four Ukrainian drones in the area of Boromlia, Borshchevaya, Oleshnia and Usok settlements in the air.
Konashenkov reported that since the start of the military operation on February 24, Russian forces have eliminated 261 drones, 204 anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as 1,587 tanks and other armored combat vehicles.
Also disabled were 163 multiple rocket launchers, 636 pieces of field artillery and mortars, as well as 1,397 units of special military vehicles.
In a speech to inform about the beginning of the operation last February, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the aim of the actions is to protect the population of Donbass from the abuses and genocide of kyiv during the last eight years, in addition to “demilitarizing” and “denazifying” Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of this country assured that the attacks are not directed at the population or at the Ukrainian cities, but against its military infrastructures.
