The chairman of the board of directors of the Buenaventura mining company, Rock Benavidesreferred to the current management of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (mine) and pointed out that there is a lack of experience on the part of the representatives of said portfolio, as well as, a little impulse of the mining activity.
In this sense, the director maintained that Peru has US$ 57,000 million in mining projects to be developed, which could generate 2.3 million jobs if the Minem valued them, something that has not happened.
“I think that what we need in Peru is much more investment, which is precisely what generates jobs, mainly for young people and in rural areas,” he said in an interview with Successful.

Likewise, Roque Benavides stated that there is a lack of experience on the part of the current representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, both the deputy ministers, technicians and the minister himself.
“Mr. Cerrón’s radical left has shown incompetence and a great lack of professional cadres. It is evident that they do not have the adequate cadres, since they have had to be changed four times”, it states.
Along these lines, the manager criticized the lack of continuity of the Minem headlines. “We have had four ministers of energy and mines in less than 10 months, that is not promoting the mining industry, which is so important for the country.”
Finally, Benvides referred to the current Ministry of Energy and Mines, indicating that he has not had the opportunity to meet them, nor is he aware of their contributions to the mining industry.
“We have not met them. Honestly, they are not people who have been in the mining activity in recent years, they have not had greater relevance in the mining sector. I do not know the Minister of Energy and Mines, he has not summoned the companies that are an important part of national production”said.
