Rocha reiterated his support for the UAS, as governor “Rosalino”

Culiacán, Sinaloa, June 8, 2022.- By defining himself as a “Rosalino” governor, coming from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, of which he was already rector, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya reiterated his support for the highest house of studies, and as proof of this, he announced that this month 75 million pesos will be allocated for the institution to meet labor commitments, and the start of infrastructure works is also contemplated, such as a preparatory school in the community of El Burrión, Guasave.

During his message, Governor Rocha referred to the management that he achieved before President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to grant the UAS an extraordinary support of 550 million pesos to solve its financial crisis that had been dragging on for years, management that it was successful and the commitment was to provide these resources in equal parts, that is, 275 million pesos from the federal government and the same amount from the State Government, which will be provided throughout the year.

In this regard, he announced that in this month of June, another 75 million pesos of extraordinary state resources will be delivered to the UAS so that the Rosalina administration does not have problems to comply with the payment of summer vacation premiums to its workers, an amount that will be will add to the 100 million pesos that were previously channeled to the university as part of the commitment made with the president, while the rest will be fulfilled in December.

Rocha specified that those 275 million pesos that his government will allocate to the UAS throughout the year, were obtained from budget savings and were not removed from any program, nor was it necessary to cancel public works.

Regarding works for the university, the governor reiterated the commitment he made during his visit to Ciudad de Universitaria to build the roof for the Olympic pool, for which his government will contribute the cost of 15 million pesos, and advanced that in El Burrión, Guasave, the UAS preparatory school will be built, also with state resources. “I promise to give you the resources to build their preparatory school in El Burrión,” he told the rector Madueña.
