Godoy Cruz eliminated Lanús 3-1 and Belgrano knocked out Estudiantes de La Plata by winning 1-0
River Plate advanced to the round of 16 of the Argentine Cup to the thrashing Barracas Central 3-0 a week after being eliminated from the Copa Libertadores and three days after losing to Godoy Cruz in the local Professional Soccer League tournament. A double by Agustín Palavecino and a goal by Milton Casco sealed the victory of the Marcelo Gallardo team and advanced to the round of sixteen, in which they will face Defense and Justice, which left Argentinos Juniors on the way.
Godoy Cruz eliminated Lanús after winning 3-1 with goals from Tadeo Allende, the Uruguayan Salomón Rodríguez and Martín Ojeda. Franco Orozco discounted for Garnet.
