Public transportation

Public transport continues to operate with limited hours until 7 pm. The Municipal Department of Transit and Transport of Natal reported that the fleet already exceeds 80%. In addition to the 42 bus lines, with around 250 vehicles, another 46 alternative transport lines are back in operation.

Laumir Barrêto, Executive Director and Institutional Relations of the Potiguar Federation of Commerce, considers the situation still worrying: “not having normal transport for our employees, we cannot have our stores functioning at their fullest. In addition to the difficulty for employees to arrive , some of them even manage to have transportation, because the number of buses circulating is not enough to do this job”

Even with the reduced fleet, public services such as health units and secretariats resumed their routine. The State Department of Education, for example, today maintained normal operation in the education network.

At the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and at the federal institutes, the in-person return to classes was maintained for this Monday, with the exception of night classes.

The State University of Rio Grande do Norte, with centers in five municipalities and in the capital, authorized the continuity of remote activities until tomorrow (28). The more than two thousand students of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Árido also had their face-to-face return postponed. Remote classes follow until March 31th.

The Municipal Education Network of Natal had already postponed the start of the school year in school units because of the attacks. Classes that were scheduled to start on March 21, will start on Wednesday (29).
