Former congressman Richard Arce referred to the context in which Peruvian politics finds itself, within the framework of the Regional and Municipal Elections 2022.
First of all, Arce commented that the elections should be an “electoral party”; however, the public is “disappointed.”
“The presidential elections would be in 2026 (…) we would be seeing a kind of platform, a springboard: ‘I am going to the Municipality of Lima to later jump to the presidency.’ You have to be very careful, because this is not a game, it is responsibility, ”said the former parliamentarian.
Regarding the proposals of the candidates, Arce commented that it is “regrettable” that what stands out in them are the corrective measures, in which force is exercised.
On the other hand, he gave his opinion on what happened with the presidential plane.
“It is not the private plane for the family to board (…). The crime that has been committed is the use of public goods: you cannot use a public good as if it were a personal one, ”he commented in that line.
Finally, he also referred to the case of Willy Huerta. The guest mentioned that the congressmen did not assume their responsibilities at the time of voting, since there were a large number of absentees.
“Forget the vacancy, it is impossible with this type of Congress. At most, a constitutional accusation, but we still need more than 60 votes; For what has happened with Willy Huerta, I am convinced that not even a constitutional accusation. At the moment that the degree of guilt that Castillo has is evidenced, he would prosper, ”he sentenced on the position of Parliament before another vacancy motion.
