The billing of bars and restaurants in the country is expected to increase 30% on the Mother’s Day weekend, celebrated next Sunday (8), compared to the same period last year. The forecast is from the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), released today (2).
According to the entity, in some capitals, revenue should even be higher than that recorded on the 2019 Mother’s Day weekend, before the covid-19 pandemic. In Belo Horizonte, the expectation is 20% more than the 2019 billing; in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, 15% higher.
“Mother’s Day is the second best day of the year in terms of activity in restaurants, second only to Valentine’s Day. This year we are heading towards the end of the pandemic. And the end of the restrictions, added to the vaccine, generates even more confidence for the consumer, who must refill the tables of the restaurants on this special date”, highlighted the executive president of Abrasel, Paulo Solmucci.
