On August 14, the arrest of 3 citizens, two Colombians and one Italian, was achieved, a statistic that confirms the constant that 29% of those sentenced are of Colombian nationality.
Fourteen people have been rescued in three operations carried out by the security forces in conjunction with the Public Ministry.
In the most recent operation carried out this Wednesday, September 14, three women of Colombian nationality were rescued through the Ivory operation, these women are possible victims of the crime of human trafficking.
In this operation, the apprehension of a Colombian was achieved.
According to the director of the Office Against Trafficking in Persons of the Ministry of Security, Dayra Campos, in the development of the last two operations Galaxy and Marfil there was support from the citizens who called through the 104 and alerted the authorities to the possible commission of this serious crime against humanity such as human trafficking.
Campos explained that to date 14 people have been rescued, identified as victims of human trafficking; 5 of them were rescued in the Luz de Esperanza operation and 6 in the Galaxy operation, the remaining 3 in the Marfil Operation.

He said that in these cases the opening of the processes are given ex officio and this is achieved thanks to the support of all citizens for alerting the authorities in time.
He recalled that the penalties for this crime against humanity range from 15 to 20 years in prison and when it is aggravated up to 30 years.
