Wildo Almirón, representative of “Republican Force”, delivered the resignation of Hugo Velázquez to his presidential candidacy. He also delivered the resignation of Arnoldo Wiens as a candidate for a member of the Governing Board.
He then proceeded to register Wiens’ new candidacy for the presidency of the Republic. He will replace Velázquez because he resigned after being declared “significantly corrupt” by the United States last Friday, August 12.
Wiens will accompany Juan Manuel Brunetti in the presidential badge of the ruling party.
