Óscar Paciello, president of the Council of the Magistracy, reported that the regulations for the replacement of Antonio Fretes will be dealt with in the next session. It should be remembered that the magistrate will turn 75 in March of next year, so he must retire when he reaches the maximum age.
“We must bear in mind that social organizations such as the Bar Association can send us their suggestions. Things like the knowledge test. But for me the public hearing to assess their skills is more important. We are going to discuss this ”, she pointed out.
The next ordinary session is scheduled for Monday, December 19. But the calling of an extraordinary session this week for the approval of the regulation is not ruled out.
“I hope that next Monday we can finish this work. We will make a revision of the previous regulations, on that basis, we will extract the beneficial and we will improve where the critics are centered”, he affirmed.
The call will begin as soon as the regulation is finalized. It is estimated that by February 2, the application period will end. Then the public hearings will be held, evaluation of the scores. In the first week of March, the replacement for Fretes would be available.
