The renowned municipalist, Mario Lazo, passed away today at the age of 70. His death, according to close sources, was due to a disease that he had suffered for a long time. He had been hospitalized in the Essalud Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a week and a half. Lazo was municipal manager for 9 years in the management of former mayor Pedro Morales Mansilla.

The lawyer had reappeared as manager of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo (MPH) in the former administration, but only for a few days. He was one of the most recognized municipalists in the region. He studied economics and law and had completed a master’s degree in Spain.
His longest work was for 9 years as municipal manager of the former management of mayor Pedro Morales Mansilla. Lazo, like Morales, was an Acciopopulist. He also worked in Congress in the Oversight Commission together with Congressman Edgar Reymundo and was a university professor.

His brother, the former councilor of Huancayo, Luis Lazo, announced very sadly that they had always maintained a very close friendship.
